Allan and Bernie's Story

A Tribute to Barbara Jean

See how this urban couple uses RVing to slow down and enjoy the things that matter the most.

Quick trips around Atlanta

Our absolute favorite place to escape to is Tybee Island. When we arrive, all our cares just disappear… at least for a few days. A quaint island setting about three and a half hours away, it’s close enough to get there easily, yet being near the ocean makes it feel a world away from our urban life. We also enjoy Dollywood and the mountains of Gatlinburg even though they’re about four and a half hours away. There’s so much to do in the Pigeon Forge area, and we are huge Dolly Parton fans. When we need quick weekend getaways to recharge, or when we want to introduce our city friends to RVing, there are four public parks within an hour of downtown. Stone Mountain Park is our favorite close-by choice for experiencing the cool and quiet of the mountains surrounding a spectacular lake.
